The Department of Theatre & Dance at The University of Colorado Boulder seeks a Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty Position (Associate or Full Professor) as an Artist and/or Scholar in Theatre & Dance. We are seeking an individual who is committed to imagining new futures for our field. This individual will contribute to the artistic, curricular, administrative, and leadership needs of a thriving and collaborative program. Applicants will have a proven record of redefining practices and parameters in the field of live performance and/or scholarship. We are particularly interested in applicants whose work focuses on the global majority.
The applicant could be a generative creator and/or scholar. A creator could be a director, performer, deviser, choreographer, designer, writer, and/or visionary maker. A scholar should have a distinguished research/publication record in theory, and/or practice. We hold an expansive understanding of what constitutes research and creative work. We value diverse applications of theatre and dance within and across societies/cultures.
Starting Date: August 19, 2024 – Fall 2024 Term.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Required Duties: The successful candidate should be able to teach at least one, large undergraduate course, serve both Theatre & Dance graduate programs, and mentor students on MA, PhD and MFA cases. The candidate will serve on department and university committees, assume roles in department leadership, and continue an active presence in the field through creative and/or scholarly work.
The position supervises the annual Roe Green Distinguished Visiting Theatre Artist Residency, a program that brings in recognized artists to work with students on a departmental project. This role will maintain a collaborative relationship with Roe Green and provide stewardship in the vision and implementation of related activities. The residency program transforms our production season, accommodates our student population, responds to the current global reality, and reaches diverse audiences.
What You Should Know
- This is a tenured faculty position in the Department of Theatre and Dance. The successful candidate will also hold the Roe Green Endowed Professorship. The endowed professorship manages the Roe Green Distinguished Visiting Artist Series in Theatre. It also maintains a collaborative relationship with our department benefactor, Roe Green.

What We Can Offer
- Salary: Tenure/Tenure Track THDN $70,000 - $100,000.
- Roe Green Endowed Professorship Up to $30,000.
- Total Combined salary up to $130,000.
- Roe Green research funding $10,000 annually.
