This position is part of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) initiative SpectrumX. It will be led by the University of Notre Dame and will bring together experts from 29 organizations to transform the landscape of spectrum research, education, collaboration, and management. https://www.spectrumx.org/ This position will be housed under Venture Partners at CU Boulder. Venture Partners at CU Boulder is a key catalyst for innovation. Venture Partners’ mission is to translate breakthrough inventions from the University to society. Our work is exciting, fast-paced, and multidisciplinary, bringing together the domains of business, science, and law. We work with university researchers and external business partners to commercialize new products and form new startup companies.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Develop and manage SpectrumX’s collaboration and engagement activities with relevant Industry and Federal Agencies.
  • Engage with and leverage SpectrumX’s Member Universities Government Relations, Federal & Industry Outreach resources.
  • Develop Membership model(s) that defines roles, responsibilities, benefits, and contribute to funding additional research for the Center.
  • Identify and drive new sources of revenue for the Center. Examples include Sponsored research, Membership Fees, Fellowships, etc. 

What You Should Know

  • Must be able and willing to travel (20-25% of the time).

The hiring rate is $155,000.00.

What We Require

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • At least 6+ years of professional, job-related experience.

What You Will Need

  • Excellent written and communications skills.
  • Proven ability to convey complex technologies in easy to understand terms.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Advanced degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Extensive U.S. wireless industry relationships and domain expertise.
  • Deep understanding and experience commercializing wireless and high-technology products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities, lead project engagements, attract new business, and build lasting professional relationships with senior client executives.
  • A proven track-record developing innovative business partnerships and collaborations.
  • Extensive experience with ‘dual-path’ Product / Services Development.
  • 25+ years of Sr. Executive experience with wireless technology businesses.
