Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Structural Trades professional! This position exists to support all athletic facilities by repairing and installing equipment as needed and by providing equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance and maintaining equipment and supplies inventory.

Who We Are

Our faculty, staff, and students work with the broader community to establish outstanding connections that have lasting outcomes—both across Colorado and around the world.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Repair walls and doors by assessing damage and determining requirements to return the damaged components to their original condition and completing the repair. This work requires journeyman level skills in carpentry, plastering and painting.
- Perform repairs to various building systems by assessing the problem, determining the correct course of action and completing the repair, or requesting additional assistance, if required. Examples include, but are not limited to, the maintenance, repair and installation of lock systems in lockers and doors throughout the athletic facilities. This will also include the maintenance and repair of panic hardware devices. Repair of lockers will often require the replacement of portions of lockers. This requires journeyman level skills in carpentry to rebuild the components from scratch.
- Renovate building components and systems by assessing and interpreting the user 's needs, determining the appropriate course of action and completing the project. An example would include the construction of a storage closet. This project would require journeyman level carpentry, painting and plastering skills, matching the building components to existing construction, i.e. framing the walls, using wood or metal studs, hanging gypsum board on the studs, installing a door frame and hanging the door, installing a lock set as the application dictates; and taping, finishing and painting the walls and door.
- Assist in coordination and setup of special events by assessing the needs of a user and setting up, as well as operating, the event accordingly. An example would include the construction of a stage for a commencement ceremony, but the needs of special events vary greatly in scope and often require last minute alterations to allow an event to work.
