Job Summary

This position’s role in the accomplishment of the mission and objectives of the work unit and to the campus is: perform routine and assigned repairs to parking facility related equipment; perform trash removal, deliver materials to work sites; install parking appurtenances; conduct preventative maintenance and inventory functions for areas assigned by the Facility Operations, Field Supervisor.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Facility Operations
  • Operate vehicles, powered and non-powered tools, various hand tools, as well as other equipment to perform routine, preventative and general maintenance on parking lots, parking lot signs, parking structures and other parking areas according to manuals and procedures. 
  • Follow supervisor instructions and manuals for installation of regulatory and advisory signing, installation of bumper blocks, painting of lots, organize and deliver materials to work sites. 
  • Maintain daily records of work performed. 
  • Turn in work records and repair records to supervisor daily. 
  • Be available by radio and/or cell phone during the assigned shift. 
Inventory
  • Take Receipt of materials for immediate use and/or placement in inventory in accord with inventory storage policies and procedures; recommend the purchase of tools, replacement parts, and repair manuals. 
  • Coordinate student employees to store products in inventory according to storage policies and par levels.
Cleaning
  • Perform hands-on cleaning and operate power-sweeping equipment, gas-powered power washer, backpack blowers, and vacuums to clean parking garage floors, parking lot flow lines, drains and lot surfaces. 
  • Wipe down handrails, sweep stairwells, clean glass windows, glass doors, wipe down elevator controls, sweep and mop elevator floors, sanitize and shine inside of elevator cabs. 
  • Empty trash and recycle containers, wash and sanitize containers on a regular basis. 
  • Perform safety checks on all structure doors, elevators and accessible door paddles. 
  • Inspect, adjust, monitor, and perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on pointer post installing the machine, generator, weed whackers, snow throwers, backpack blowers, and large lot sweepers to confirm proper function.
  • Determine when the following is needed: wood, nails, paint, signs, and tools for fabrication of barricades and parking gate barrier arms, parking lot regulation signs, signposts, attachment brackets, and rivets to provide a continuous supply.

What You Should Know

The anticipated work schedule is Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-2:30 PM.

What We Can Offer

Anticipated Starting Salary is $38,424.00. Commensurate with experience.

What We Require

  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in the structural trades (building maintenance trades including carpentry, electrical or painting maintenance or locksmithing). 
  • Appropriate education or successful completion of a formalized apprenticeship program will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
