The Laboratory of Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) is encouraging applications for a Technical Recruiter to join our team! This position leads LASP-wide recruiting, with the exception of tenured faculty, and sourcing activities. This role remains current and knowledgeable of the employment environment within the Denver Metro area in regards to specific skill availability and competitiveness. The Technical Recruiter should have the ability to develop and maintain diversity sourcing capabilities and connections within the aerospace sector, including commercial and government sectors.

Who We Are

LASP is a world-renowned space science research institute at the University of Colorado Boulder. CU receives more NASA funding than any public university in the country, due in large part to LASP programs. Professional engineers work closely with scientists and assembly technicians in designing and building space flight hardware while helping mentor students as entry-level engineers working on these programs. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Build sourcing pipelines/networks for engineering talent pools, using a variety of effective search methods and professional relationships.
  • Provide recommendations on postings to attract strong and diverse candidate pools.
  • Research and provide recommendations for additional external posting sites for engineering and business roles.
  • Screen candidate materials for relevant skills, knowledge, and qualifications.
  • Makes candidate recommendations to hiring managers.
  • May conduct initial screening interviews as requested.
  • Facilitate offers and employment negotiations.
  • Manage the overall interview, selection, and dispositioning process, including maintaining Avature ATS.
  • Act as a representative to LASP to prospective candidates.
  • Work with division directors and hiring managers to assess current and future hiring needs for programs based on lab loading to create a sustainable staffing strategy and plan.
  • Act as an advisor to align hiring strategies to long term hiring needs.
  • Keep abreast of labor trends that may impact labor supply and demand.
  • Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations.

  • We anticipate this position will support a hybrid format in Colorado, ideally in the Denver metro area (in person/remote work). 

What We Can Offer

The hiring range is $62,000.00 - $78,000.00. Relocation is available per institute guidelines.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Three years of experience in recruiting and sourcing.

What You Will Need

  • Familiarity with Colorado Equal Pay Act Law.
  • Knowledge of sourcing methods for various types of postings.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with coworkers and peers.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Experience recruiting in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Experience evaluating and interviewing candidates to provide finalists to hiring managers.
