Job Summary

The Office of Advancement encourages applications for a Temporary Advancement Project Manager! This role will play a significant role in supporting initiatives for the Campaign Planning & Strategy team as the CU Boulder Division of Advancement embarks on its first campus-based comprehensive campaign. This position is responsible for leading all aspects of key initiatives for the Campaign team as well as partner teams within the division. This work will ensure critically important projects remain on track as the campus progresses toward a more public launch in alignment with CU Boulder’s 150th celebration. This position formally reports to the Senior Director of Campaign Planning & Strategy.

This position will navigate duties that are variable and sophisticated in nature and is tasked with exercising a high level of discretion and confidentiality, especially as it relates to assigned responsibilities with donors, faculty, staff and other constituents. This role applies skills and knowledge in multiple administrative functions, but many responsibilities reflect a distinct Advancement and constituent engagement component.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Project Management 
  • Complete key advancement-related tasks, including planned operations, events, and communications. 
  • Coordinate the tracking and management of tasks related to campaign projects, often using Microsoft Excel. 
  • Initiate, schedule, and coordinate internal and external meetings. 
  • Work closely with the Senior Director on the tracking, stewardship and engagement of volunteers and advisors for Advancement. 
  • Use Asana as a project management system. 
  • Use the donor database, CU Ascend, to collect information about constituents, gifts/pledges, proposals, and other aspects of Advancement work. 
  • As needed, attend meetings, take detailed notes, and support timely, organized follow-up on all action items and decisions. 
  • Provide event support and preparation as vital. 
  • Supervise special projects. 
Communications 
  • Connect with Advancement colleagues and other campus partners to assess the status of campaign projects and, in partnership with the Senior Director, determine what is needed to move the projects forward. 
  • Support the creation, review, and distribution of campaign-specific materials.

What You Should Know

  • This is a temporary, full time position anticipated to last into mid-January 2026. There may be an opportunity to extend this appointment based on business needs.
  • This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days per week on campus and 3-4 days remote.

What We Can Offer

The pay range is $32.00 - $38.00 per hour.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of professional, job-related experience that includes strong organizational and project management skills. 
  • Software Used: Microsoft Office products, Office365 including SharePoint and OneDrive, Zoom, Teams, Asana, donor tracking software (Salesforce/CU Ascend), DocuSign.

What You Will Need

  • Phenomenal organizational skills with an ability to independently navigate competing priorities in a constantly evolving environment. 
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience tracking and reporting data. 
  • Knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and alumni relations standard methodologies. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Customer service experience. 
  • Ability to maintain and cultivate professional working relationships with colleagues in Advancement and across campus, as well as external partners and vendors.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Experience in a non-profit or higher education environment.
  • Experience working in customer service and/or an operations-focused role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in the SharePoint environment.
