Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder and Housing and Dining Services is seeking applicants for a Temporary Campus Dining Attendant! This position exists to complete assigned tasks that provide operational support to FOH and BOH dining service operations, practicing safe food handling techniques, following standardized operating procedures, all while offering excellent customer service in a team-oriented and supported environment.

Who We Are

Campus Dining Services exists to provide 3.3 million meals per year for the students, staff, faculty, and guests of the university. We are comprised of Residential Dining Halls, Catering and Retail outlets which operate year-round. Campus Dining offers outstanding quality food and exceptional dining experiences. We continue to expand our sustainability initiatives and reduce our carbon footprint in our daily operations, including efforts in resource recovery, conservation, and food sourcing. We are dedicated to providing options and information to all of our guests with dietary restrictions and allergens, including vegan, vegetarian, kosher and Halal choices, supported by a strong allergen awareness program called A9 ® Identified.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Production & Service
  • Prep and assemble ingredients for recipes using a variety of equipment and cooking techniques. Assist with setup, maintenance, and breakdown of production and service areas.
  • Set up and tends to drink, service lines, dish rooms, dining rooms, and courtesy stands. Stock and replenish service ware.
  • Follow sustainability and recycling procedures.
Safety & Sanitation
  • Follow set food safety protocols and all A9 labeling and ParTech procedures.
  • Follow accurate sanitation methods to clean prep areas, equipment, dishes, and high-contact areas including seating areas, furniture, floors, and fixtures.
  • Serve on the food safety response team and respond to all food safety emergencies.
Personnel
  • Train and empower new staff members and student employees while holding them accountable.
  • Follow CDS uniform guidelines and personnel hygiene standards.

What You Should Know

  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement. 
    • New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment. 
  • This is a temporary position and not eligible for benefits.
  • This position will be 100% on campus.

What We Can Offer

  • The hourly rate is $15.45

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave

  • 1 year of experience related to the job assignment. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

  • Sensitivity to, and appreciation of, cultural, political, and geographical differences while working with students, faculty, and staff from around the world.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Servsafe certified and or certificate appropriate for the position level or the ability to acquire Servsafe certification or certificate appropriate to position level within 6 months of hire, and must possess certification for the duration of employment with CDS.
