Job Summary

The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Temporary Communications Assistant! This role will help manage newsletters, social media submissions, event calendars and data analytics projects. The Assistant will report to the Associate Director of Marketing and External Relations and will effectively collaborate with the communications team and across the college.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Create and distribute department newsletters:

  • Work with collaborators across the communications team and college to gather content and manage the production and distribution of weekly undergraduate student and research newsletters.
  • Use digital marketing and project management tools, including Drupal, email marketing platforms, and ASANA.
  • Supervise and report on key delivery and engagement metrics, as advised.

Monitor and update department editorial calendar:

  • Regularly update the editorial calendar.
  • Work with internal partners and partners to ensure content is current and actionable.

Support Google Analytics and SEMRush project work:

  • Support departmental analytics projects as required, including data collection and reporting.

Manage and supervise social media requests and coordinate tracking management:

  • Manage incoming internal social media requests using ASANA.
  • Build and supervise UTM marketing codes and collaborate with the Associate Director and other social media colleagues to ensure timely delivery of requests.

Update CU events calendar:

  • Create and update events on the CU Boulder campus-wide events calendar as needed.

What You Should Know

  • This is a temporary, full-time position anticipated to last into May 2025, though there is potential the appointment will extend. If you are unable to work a full-time schedule, we are open to reduced-schedule alternatives.
  • This position may be eligible for a hybrid work modality, consistent with the College of Engineering and Applied Science Hybrid Work Policy.

What We Can Offer

The hire rate for this position is $27.00 - $28.00 per hour.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field. Experience can substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
  • 1 year of proven experience in PR, digital communications, email marketing, or project management.

  • Dedication to promoting diverse and inclusive communications and communities, with sensitivity to/appreciation for cultural, political, and geographical differences. Ability to work well with faculty, staff, and students from around the world.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Experience in higher education a plus.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to meet set timelines.
  • Familiarity with UTM and Bitly link tracking.
  • Proficiency in project management and digital marketing platforms (e.g., ASANA, Drupal, Google Analytics, SEMRush).
