Job Summary
The Institute for Behavioral Genetics (IBG) at the University of Colorado, Boulder, seeks a temporary, part-time Finance and Grant Manager to join our administrative team! IBG researchers investigate the genetic, molecular and environmental contributions to neurological disorders, learning and behaviors. The IBG administrative team supports faculty, graduate students and research staff to handle grants, human resources, and finances.

The Institute for Behavioral Genetics (IBG) is an organized research unit of the University of Colorado Graduate School dedicated to conducting and facilitating research on the genetic and environmental bases of individual differences in behavior. Founded in 1967, IBG is one of the top research facilities in the world for genetic research on behavior.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Reviewing expenses posted to assigned grants for allowability, creating and/or requesting expense changes, and updating projection spreadsheets.
- Developing purchase orders, paying invoices, and establishing subawards on grants
- Analyzing and responding to grant management requests from OCG and CCO, including grant closeout activities
- Processing reimbursements, travel reports and p-card reports.
What You Should Know
- This temporary role is part-time, with an anticipated schedule working about 20 hours a week. Hours may vary based on team workload and business needs.
What We Can Offer
The hourly rate for this temporary position is $32/hr.

What We Require
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ideally 3+ years of professional job-related experience in financial coordination or administration of sponsored project operations with a preference for specific experience in either a research or academic environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other CU departments across multiple subject areas.
- Demonstrated ability to handle and meet timelines, prioritizing effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
