The Johnson Laboratory (http://www.johnsonlaboraotry.com) is accepting qualified research technicians to assist in the laboratory at the world-recognized University of Colorado located in scenic Boulder Colorado beginning in May and concluding in August 2025 (with possible to extend to February 2026 depending on the candidate).

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- The primary responsibilities of the selected individual will be to perform necropsies on a wide range of amphibian, fish, and snail species to identify and quantify macro-parasite infections.
- This will include:
- Isolation of macro-parasites for molecular and morphological vouchers and abundance.
- Utilize microscopic imaging techniques to identify and document parasites in situ.
- This person will assist in leading the summer necropsy as well as assist in all laboratory experiments.
- The individual will be expected to assist with daily management of the laboratory including husbandry of live amphibians, fishes, and snails, data entry and data clean up, and freshwater pond sampling. Finally, this person is expected to train new members of the laboratory when necessary and assist in publishing findings from research projects.
What You Should Know
- The person in this position needs to have over 2 years of amphibian dissection to be considered.
- Additionally, they need to have management of a team for 2 years.
What We Can Offer
This position salary will depend on experience level of candidates (starting at $18.00 per hour up to $24.00).

What We Require
- We require a BS or minimum of 6 years of experience in a research laboratory.
What You Will Need
- Competitive candidates should have prior independent research experience, which needs to include necropsy of vertebrates (at least two years of amphibian), proficiency with data entry and management in Excel and R studio, and morphological and molecular parasite identification skills. Additionally this candidate need a minimum of 2 year of experience managing a team in a research laboratory.
