Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder is searching for a Temporary Program Development Specialist! This is an exciting time for Career Services in Higher Education. Now more than ever, universities are recognizing the importance of offering a tangible return on investment for graduates in the form of career preparation and job goal attainment. Gone are the days of work that looked the same for years on end. Career Services is shifting at the pace of industry to meet the needs of our students, and innovative program development is a part of our new norm.

Career Services is launching a skills-focused career readiness program and is looking for a creative, strategic and meticulous presenter and curriculum developer to test, evaluate and hone existing services and tools. You will introduce students to critical career-readiness content through facilitating workshops and leading program-related drop-in labs.

Your time will be spent training students to get the most benefit from their time at CU Boulder and to develop a plan to see their career goals come to fruition. In addition to impacting students’ lives, you’ll get the satisfaction of testing and implementing new curriculum, developing resources and ensuring content is intuitive, effective and inclusive. Who We Are

Career Services, a department within the Division of Student Affairs, is the central hub for career initiatives at CU Boulder. Career Services partners with key partners across campus to ensure that students and alumni have the opportunity to develop career competencies, gain professional tools, and solidify their career choices. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Conduct program-specific workshops and drop-in labs.
  • Evaluate and update materials and programming.
  • Convert current curriculum into formats appropriate for seminars, online courses (Canvas) and bootcamps.
  • Research labor market data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Should Know

  • There is flexibility with this position's schedule. The incumbent will be able to work 20-40 hours a week in a part or full-time capacity.
  • This position has the ability to work remote once in person training is complete. The incumbent will still need to attend or present in person trainings as the job requires.
  • There is some potential for this position to become a permanent position with CU Boulder Career Services.

What We Can Offer

  • Hourly compensation: $22.00 - $24.00.


Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave

What We Require

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field. 
  • 1 year of professional job-related experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
