Job Summary

This position utilizes the Ookla-for-Good Cell Analytics platform to produce analytical data reports, visualizations and information to produce research insights related to spectrum sharing. This project has an emphasis on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and the spectrum rights of Native Nations, and spectrum sharing to improve national workforce development.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Temporary Researcher with the Wireless Interdisciplinary Research Group (WIRG) in support of multiple NSF Spectrum Sharing Projects: This position uses the Ookla-for-Good Cell Analytics platform to produce analytical data reports, visualizations and information to produce research insights related to spectrum sharing. 

What You Should Know

This position requires 15-20 hours/week effort; it is expected that the Temporary Researcher position will have a duration of three months. There is the potential for additional project support beyond the initial 3-month duration. 

What We Can Offer

The hourly pay for this position is $50/hour. 


Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave

What We Require

  • Ph.D. Preferred, M.S. Required in an Engineering Field with a preference towards Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years' experience in radio frequency (RF) engineering.

What You Will Need

  • Experience or willingness to learn about some aspects of 5G and 6G networks
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and priorities
  • Excellent communication skills to keep team informed of project status and progress
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong work ethic

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Data analytics experience
  • Experience with RF network planning
  • Familiarity with RF propagation modeling tools
