What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Conduct research under the mentorship and supervision of Prof. Margaret Murnane.
  • The research will be focused on development, operation and application of harmonic generation sources, including laser and optical science, vacuum ultraviolet science, ultrafast science and applications.

What We Can Offer

  • The hourly rate for this full-time summer position is $22.00.
  • This temporary position is not eligible for benefits; however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require

  • Bachelor of Science in Physics and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.

What You Will Need

  • Prior relevant courses: Applications of Quantum Mechanics, Partial Differential Equations, Quantum Mechanics I, Electricity and Magnetism, Advanced Ordinary Differential Equations, Solid State Physics, Principles of Complex Systems I, Mathematical Physics, Principles of Complex Systems II, Electromagnetism, Thermal and Statistical Physics.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Thermal Evaporation, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Spin Coating, Sputter Coating, Inorganic Synthesis, UV-VIS and PL Spectroscopy, Spectroscopic Ellipsometry, Profilometry, Python, Matlab, LaTeX, Excel, Mathematica.
