Job Summary

The College of Arts & Sciences Student Success team encourages applications for a Temporary Scholarship Specialist! The Specialist will support the Scholarship Coordinator & Analyst and departments within the College to manage undergraduate scholarships. 

Working in collaboration with units within the CAS, CU Scholarship Services, and CU Advancement, the temporary Specialist will assist the Dean’s Office and units to manage their undergraduate scholarship portfolios. This includes crafting new and updating current scholarship applications and managing the review and award process using CU’s Scholarship Platform, Blackbaud Award Management (BAM). In addition, this position exists to ensure departments are using their scholarship funds.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Create new scholarship portfolios and opportunities in the Blackbaud Award Management (BAM) system.
  • Update existing scholarship portfolios and opportunities in BAM.
  • Track and update scholarship review committee members in BAM for awarding units.
  • Track scholarship spending and update awarding committees to assist with spending decisions.
  • Assist awarding committees with processing awards in BAM.
  • Monitor and reply to email in scholarships_as@colorado.edu and to chats in CU Scholarship Administrator Teams channel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Should Know

The Scholarship Support Specialist is a part-time (20 hours per week), temporary, hybrid position that is anticipated to last through June 2024.

What We Can Offer

  • The pay range is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.

What We Require

  • Two years of experience with scholarship and/or grant award management experience in a University setting.
  • Education may substitute for the experience on a year for year basis.

What You Will Need

  • Collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills at all levels (students, parents, faculty, and staff).
  • Proven understanding of award management cycles and concepts.
  • Understanding of organizational change.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to shift priorities as needed.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Ability to enforce to timelines.
  • Dedication to customer service and outreach.
  • Sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural, political, and geographical differences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interact on a virtual platform (Zoom, Teams, etc.)

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Solid understanding of university student information systems (BAM, Campus Solutions, Salesforce, CU Data, Slate, etc.).
  • One or more years of experience in financial aid, admissions, scholarships, and/or student affairs in a higher education environment.
  • Experience collaborating with university faculty and department administrators.
