Job Summary

This is a temporary role that will develop flight simulation capabilities using FlightGear in support of ASEN 2502 Laboratory Activities.

We are home to 56-tenure track, research, and instructional faculty, over 500 graduate students and 1,000 undergraduates.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Develop aircraft models for use in FlightGear.
  • Develop and implement inertial properties, static and dynamic stability modes for the aircraft models.
  • Develop methodology for gathering data from simulated flight testing from FlightGear.
  • Ensure developed models meet the educational objectives of the ASEN flight simulation laboratory activities.

What You Should Know

This is a temporary position related to Dr. Hoke's ASEN 2502 flight simulator project. We are anticipating a part time schedule of 10 hours per week lasting around 6 weeks after the start date.

What We Can Offer

The hire rate for this part-time position will be $35.00 per hour.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • Experience Developing and integrating 3D models and flight models in FlightGear.

What You Will Need

  • Experience in:
  • Flight simulation.
  • Aircraft dynamic stability and control.
  • 3D modeling of aircraft.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Experience taking the following courses at CU Boulder: ASEN 4018, ASEN 4028, ASEN 2704, ASEN 2804, and ASEN 3802.
