Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for an Undergraduate Academic & Community Enrichment Professional! This position plays an essential role in enhancing student success programming to support the CU Lead Alliance. The CU Lead Alliance consists of 14 programs that span various academic departments and units that focus on academic enrichment, scholarship opportunities and shared peer experiences. The newly established Undergraduate Academic & Community Enrichment unit within the Office of Undergraduate Education supports the CU Lead Alliance through strategic initiatives and assists students involved in the Denver Scholarship Foundation, I Have A Dream Foundation, and the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative. Key responsibilities include coordinating and offering high-impact student engagement opportunities; organizing and implementing recruitment campaigns; and assisting the Director of Undergraduate Academic & Community Enrichment with various initiatives. 
The position includes connecting approximately 350 students from the Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF), the I Have A Dream Foundation (IHADF), and other organizations to student success opportunities within CU Boulder. This role will work with the CU Lead Alliance to place scholars into suitable opportunities and oversee a cohort of scholars who are not assigned to a specific program. This position will also be responsible for maintaining student records and producing detailed reports.
This role reports directly to the Director of Undergraduate Academic & Community Enrichment in the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE). It is an exempt university staff role that includes benefits. This is an inaugural role and has potential for growth. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Academic and Community Support:
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Undergraduate Academic & Community Enrichment to devise and implement strategies aimed at enhancing student success within the CU Lead Alliance and beyond.
  • Collaborates with Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, and other campus partners to identify and offer wrap-around services for CU Lead programs and scholars in need of support.
  • Spearheads the student recruitment strategy in collaboration with Enrollment Management, incorporating prospective scholar lists into the comprehensive recruitment plan. Identifies and participates in key recruitment events, such as Admitted Buff Days, orientation, etc.
  • Serves as a liaison to Office of Scholarship Services and Financial Aid to share information and troubleshoot student situations.
  • Maintains accurate records of student interactions, progress, and program participation.
  • Collaborates with the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) Coordinator to maximize and bridge student support connections.
Scholarship Program Management: 
  • Provides support to DSF, IHADF and other scholars by linking cohorts to appropriate CU Lead areas and wrap-around services.
  • Develops and maintains key touchpoints for a small cohort of unaffiliated scholars, connecting them to relevant events, meetings and activities to fulfill their scholarship requirements.
  • Maintains consistent and timely communication with scholars about deadlines, scholarship status, and other relevant information.
  • Serves as point of contact to DSF, IHADF and other external scholarship partners.
  • Tracks student performance based on established criteria and shares the results with external scholarship partners accordingly.
  • Addresses and resolves student scholarship issues as they occur.
  • Participates in partner meetings and stays updated on policy changes.
Events and Marketing Support: 
  • Plans and presents at key events such as fairs, orientation sessions, and workshops.
  • Assists in managing the CU Lead online presence by regularly updating the website and internal communication platforms with news, event information, and resources.
Ancillary Duties: 
  • Serves on various University Committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Salary: $54,060 - $61,000.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s Degree and one year of post-bachelor experience with campus-wide programming.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • One year demonstrated experience in program management and community building with experience developing and implementing student success initiatives.

What You Will Need

  • Demonstrated experience of supporting a variety of student populations and knowledge of high-impact practices. 
  • Capability to work independently and effectively navigate ambiguity, particularly in this newly established role within a newly defined unit.
  • Capacity to work effectively with a variety of roles across campus and maintain clear and concise communication.
  • Proficient in engaging and interacting with students through active listening, empathy, and support.
  • Knowledge of established practices and trends that support student success across various groups.
  • Project management skills.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Master’s degree in higher education or related field.
  • Relevant full-time professional experience in post-secondary education administration including professional experience in community-building, student advising and support, and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience in scholarship administration.
