Job Summary
Arts & Sciences Support of Education Through Technology (ASSETT) is hiring three Temporary Developers to support the creation of a computer simulation for the Virtual Labs project, funded and collaborating with the ASSETT Innovation Incubator. The Temporary Developers will work collaboratively with faculty members and other team members to advance the project’s objectives while developing their communication skills, teamwork skills, leadership skills, and technical abilities. Ideal candidates are self-starters who have experience in virtual lab design and simulation creation using the Godot platform. They will put these skills to use while contributing to an initiative to increase undergraduate research training opportunities in the Arts & Science community.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Work with faculty and a graphic designer to develop computer simulations to train students to carry out biology experiments. The simulation will be built on the existing platform using the Godot framework.
- Collaborate with the team to contribute to the overall objectives:
- Develop virtual simulations representing a molecular biology/cell biology laboratory
- Develop software test plans, including but not limited to, defining testing objectives, suggesting a user testing method and creating task scenarios
- If time permits, obtain feedback and make changes to the software based on user feedback
What You Should Know
Maximum between 20-40 hours/week for the summer
What We Can Offer
The hourly rate for this temporary position is $25.
Benefits
Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, applied science, or a related field.
- At least a year of experience working with the Godot platform.
What You Will Need
- Familiarity with the current state of the simulation.
- Experience in software and web development.
- Dependable and organized, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
What We Would Like You to Have
Alumni from the College of Engineering and Applied Science, Undergraduate program preferred.
