Job Summary

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures seeks a one academic-year Visiting Assistant Professor of German Studies, starting August 19, 2019.  Open specialization. This is a full-time, 100% appointment with benefits, a competitive salary, and a teaching load of two courses per semester. The successful candidate will offer German language courses and courses taught in English on German-speaking cultures. Native or near-native proficiency in German is required.

What We Require

  • PhD in German Studies or a related field.
  • At least two years of college-level teaching experience, which may be attained during graduate study. 
  • Native or near-native proficiency in German. 
  • Research specialization in German-language literatures and cultures.
