Job Summary
The College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder welcomes applications for the Website Manager! This position will govern the entire website ecosystem for CEAS and will be responsible for its day-to-day operation and maintenance. That ecosystem includes the main college website and related properties supporting academic departments and programs and other functions – all of which are built within the CU WebExpress platform. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, creativity, and problem-solving skills to ensure the college’s websites run smoothly, are up to date, and offer the best possible user experience. The Website Manager will collaborate closely with CEAS marketing communications professionals, college partners, the Office of Information Technology, as well as campus authorities who manage our website platform. This position reports to Senior Director for Marketing and Communications.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Website Creation & Support:
- Build relationships and collaborate with marketing staff and college partners to determine the need for website redesigns, ongoing web maintenance and strategic content creation.
- Resolve technical website issues, implement proven practices, and smartly deploy new features and functionality. This may include working with CU Web Express, OIT, UIS, Identity and Access Management, Digital Accessibility Office, and external design or technology firms.
- Coordinate with internal and external designers, content creators, or agencies as needed for large-scale projects, such as redesigns or major updates.
- Develop a college intranet on SharePoint to enhance and secure information sharing within the college.
- Represent CEAS and partner with OIT and campus professionals on the rollout of Salesforce CRM.
- Act as project manager on web initiatives by maintaining master project calendar, providing status updates at weekly team meetings, managing program timelines, achievements and action items, and documenting project files or media assets.
Content Management:
- Regularly update and add new content using the Drupal content management system (CMS) and the university’s WebExpress platform.
- Collaborate with marketing, design, and other teams to create, edit, and publish content on websites.
- Ensure websites are structured and content is optimized for search engines (SEO) and adhere to standard practices for digital accessibility.
Website Maintenance:
- Manage and regularly update the college’s websites to ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with branding guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and quickly resolve any technical or content-related issues including website downtime, bugs, and functionality problems.
- Ensure websites run smoothly and efficiently, performing routine checks to identify and fix any issues such as broken links, slow page load times, and content errors.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
- Monitor website performance and usability and work with internal and external designers to improve functionality and overall user experience (UX).
- Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, UTM codes) to track website traffic, user behavior, marketing campaigns, and key performance indicators.
- Work closely with the digital marketing team to implement SEO strategies that drive organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
Other Duties:
- Provide technical, functional, and operational guidance and support through campus’s common good or third-party software and technologies including Salesforce CRM, Zoom Meeting/Webinar, Slate CRM, LiveChat, Google Drive, Basecamp, MS Teams, etc.
- Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Stays apprised and current on relevant University and State of Colorado policies and rules.
- Participates in professional development activities and serves on unit, college or campus committees as applicable.
What We Can Offer
The starting salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing and maintaining websites, preferably using the Drupal CMS platform.
- Three years of experience managing websites.

What We Would Like You to Have
- Five years of experience managing websites.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
- Familiarity with A/B testing, performance optimization techniques, and responsive web design.
- Higher education experience a plus.
- Experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) a plus.
- Understanding of branding and digital marketing principles and practices.
- Knowledge of user-centered design principles and UX/UI practices.
- Front-end development experience and application of appealing and effective web design principles.
- Experience with SEO practices and web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, SEMrush, etc.)
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 AA web accessibility standards.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
