Job Summary

The Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a temporary Biopolymer Biochemist. The successful candidate will grow Mycobacteria, Psuedomonas and Legionella in biofilm growth apparatus used to compare genomic, biochemical and phenotypic aspects of pure cultures of bacterial biofilms grown under different electromagnetic field exposures. The candidate will determine Biofilm composition by its carbohydrate content normalized by the standard volume eluted from biofilm reactors. As judged by classic phenol oxidation, the candidate will determine the residual polysaccharide carbohydrate content of the biofilms as standardized with dextrose in a colorimetric modification to the classic Molisch total carbohydrate assay.
