Job Summary
Facilities Management at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Building Manager! This role represents and manages facilities and buildings occupied by the Office of the Chancellor, including the Chancellor’s Residence (CHNC). This position acts as the main liaison with Facilities Operations; supervises the maintenance, repair and alteration of campus infrastructure; acts as the EH&S liaison; works with Office of the Chancellor staff and I&R to plan and schedule construction projects; administers various service contracts; responds to and coordinates maintenance requests; provides technical assistance; and monitors building maintenance budgets. This position will also coordinate and partner with the Department of Public Safety on safety-related matters.

Facilities Management is responsible for the overall physical development and maintenance of the campus. The mission of the department is to provide a safe physical environment that promotes the advancement and transfer of knowledge.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Facilities
- Provide leadership for the physical upkeep of buildings comprised of residential, event, office and support space. Be the first point of contact for occupants with questions or concerns about building infrastructure. Be responsible for submission and completion of all Service Requests. Manage day-to-day facility activities (including custodial services, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, structural shop, lock shop, pest control, landscaping, and building maintenance duties and operations). Responsible to track, review and validate expenses associated with Operations services. Work closely with the residents, or building proctor on outage coordination and construction impacts.
- Oversee the selection and requisition of materials, independently agree on a price for materials, and make cost-effective solutions and proposals for building related projects, including those initiated by end users.
- Supervise the maintenance, repair and alteration of campus infrastructure and equipment; plan and schedule construction projects; administer various service contracts; provide technical assistance to residence and building occupants.
- Monitor building maintenance budgets and capital improvement plans.
- Support capital and non-capital construction delivery, including coordination of design, document development, and associated interface between clients, consultants, sub-contractors and planners, ensuring client needs and building infrastructure is supported and protected.
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day facilities activities including janitorial services, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, structural and building maintenance duties and operations.
- Coordinate with Facilities Management, Department of Public Safety and outside contracted entities on monitoring and responding to any alarms.
- Coordinate work schedules and utility/equipment shutdowns with occupants, Facilities Management and contractors.
- Act as key liaison, telephone liaison, and for property disposal & move requests for all buildings in portfolio.
- Prepare infrastructure related reports as needed to inform the VC of I&R.
- Manage CCURE building access for building occupants.
EH&S & Emergency Management Coordination
- Responsible for coordinating all hazardous waste processes (disposal and inventory) with EH&S, enforce applicable safety rules and regulations and support compliance with all federal, state and campus EH&S regulations. During regular business hours, be the primary point of contact and liaison for all emergency responses (fire, police, etc.). OCC is the primary POC after hours, weekends, holidays.
What You Should Know
This primarily in person position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Evenings and weekends may be required for emergent cases.
What We Can Offer
- The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $112,000 annually.
- A signing bonus is available within department guidelines.

What We Require
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of building, facilities, property, or similar management experience.
- Experience in project management or property management.
- Experience working with institutions of higher education.
- Experience working in events coordination.
