Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Professional Research Assistant (PRA) to support ongoing research in the Molas Lab. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with animals, particularly mice, and a strong interest in neuroscience research.
Who We Are
The primary vision of the Molas Lab seeks to understand the neuronal circuits and mechanisms controlling novelty responses and adaptive learning processes with repeated exposures, by using a multidisciplinary research strategy with cutting-edge tools that integrate circuit mapping, gene expression analysis, photometry recordings, optogenetics, together with mouse behavioral paradigms.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Mouse colony maintenance, including husbandry and breeding.
- Animal procedures such as perfusion and behavioral testing.
- Conducting laboratory techniques including brain tissue sectioning, immunostaining, fluorescent imaging, and genotyping.
- Assisting with stereotaxic surgeries and post-operative care.
What You Should Know
- The candidate will commit to the position for a period of at least one and a half to two years.
What We Can Offer
- This is a 100%, benefits eligible position.
- Annual salary of $35,600 to $40,000, subjected to prior experience.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, or a related field.
What You Will Need
- Prior hands-on experience in a research lab setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
What We Would Like You to Have
- Familiarity with core Molas Lab techniques, such as:
- Fiber photometry
- Optogenetics and chemogenetics
- Immunohistochemistry and viral tract tracing
- Mouse behavioral paradigms
- Experience with data analysis and computational tools is a strong plus.
