Job Summary

Advancement at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Program Manager for Volunteer and Board Engagement! The Program Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and implementing initiatives that actively engage and connect key volunteers, alumni, and donors for the Leeds School of Business. By fostering strong relationships with various alumni and constituents, this position strengthens the school’s network of support and the overall reputation of Leeds and CU Boulder.

The Program Manager serves as a key connector to internal partners including faculty, staff, and students, ensuring collaborative engagement across Leeds. This position leads and manages the Executive Experience, serving as a motivator to engage volunteers, alumni, and donors in guest speaking, mentorship, and other experiential learning opportunities for students.

Additionally, the position will contribute to board, donor, and alumni engagement efforts, supporting the team with event planning, communications, and various board activities and meetings, while managing the MBA Advisory Board and supporting the Leeds Advisory Board.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Programmatic Oversight/Task Execution/Tactical Work

With the guidance of the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Program Manager will lead the planning and execution of key donor, volunteer, and alumni engagement programs, meetings, and events.

  • Partner with the Alumni Engagement and Frontline Development teams to develop engagement plans via the Leeds Executive Experience for cultivation and stewardship of key donors and prospects for the Leeds School of Business.
  • Create and implement engagement strategic plan for the Leeds Executive Experience and the Leeds Forever Buffs Network program resulting in identification and cultivation of alumni, volunteers, and prospects
  • Serve as staff liaison for the Leeds MBA Advisory Board. Collaborate with Board leadership to expand and increase experiential engagement, volunteerism, and philanthropy annually. Engage grad alumni with grad students as meaningful and appropriate to goals and strategy. Manage budgets, as necessary. 
  • Serve as Leeds Advisory Board (LAB) Manager which includes helping plan and execute at least two board meetings per year including the annual All Boards Summit. Develop and prepare content, slides, reports, and other materials for board meetings. Meet frequently with and write correspondence from the dean, members of the leadership team and board chair. Supervise and track annual giving of board members. Manage nomination, on-boarding, and off-boarding processes. Work across the School and with faculty and staff to coordinate significant volunteer experiences for board members with a strong alignment to support the School’s vision and goals.
  • Create and maintain processes for effective data collection and analysis.
  • Meet annual engagement metrics for self and support the team in meeting goals through strategic and impactful programming.
  • Propose and implement strategic/innovative solutions to currents projects for streamlining, project flow, etc. Propose, collaborate, and pilot new projects to engage key partners.
  • Develop and review event and engagement marketing and communications materials including invitation/list generation, audience segmentation, special handling, registration, event communications, and post engagement surveys.
  • Manage student support staff who will assist with program and event operations, set up and execution, data entry, etc. 
  • Conduct regular online research and benchmarking to ensure events and programs are effective in achieving established goals.
  • In partnership with the Director of Alumni Engagement and team members, review the effectiveness of programs and make suggestions for modifications and improvements.

Other Engagement Duties 

  • Represents Leeds at alumni engagement campus meetings as needed.
  • Works to support the greater alumni and advancement teams to complete strategic priorities and achieve goals.

What You Should Know

  • This position will occasionally be required to work evenings/weekends.
  • This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days on campus and some days remote.
  • This position may require local, regional, and out-of-state travel to engage with university constituents. 

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $72,413 annually. Relocation assistance is available within Advancement guidelines.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of professional, job-related experience.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • 3+ years of professional, job-related experience.
  • Experience working in events and event management.
  • Experience in tactical execution of events and/or marketing and communications plans.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Software Used: Microsoft Office products, database management and data manipulation, Salesforce, Zoom, Teams, Academic Impressions, Trello, LinkedIn, Marketing Cloud, Marketplace, Google docs/sheets, Cvent (or other RSVP system), Graduway, Qualtrics, Workfront, Canva, LinkedIn, DocuSign.
