Job Summary

The Sustainability Research Analyst will support a team that applies a range of analytical methods, including data science, machine learning, visual analytics, semantic web-based reasoning, and textual annotation across many domains to support CU Boulder’s Sustainability Research Initiative. We seek a colleague who can leverage data analysis tools and broader knowledge of the sustainability research landscape to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and strategic development. The analyst will play a critical role in providing data and analysis to launch SRI’s initiatives and increase CU Boulder’s visibility and impact in sustainability research. The analyst will inform key recommendations from internal and external benchmarking efforts to drive SRI’s new programming and build institutional infrastructure that promotes collaboration and innovation across sustainability research at CU Boulder.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Data science and analysis:

  • Data analysis to support CU Boulder’s Sustainability Research Initiative programming and broader sustainability research across CU Boulder
  • Manage the acquisition and curation of data about and outputs from CU Boulder’s sustainability research efforts
  • Development of visualization tools to communicate sustainability impacts and research outputs across campus
  • Data analysis and visualization assistance for interdisciplinary sustainability research teams

Program development and support:

  • Support program design and coordination
  • Establish centralized platforms to organize sustainability research efforts across campus and improve communication and collaboration
  • Assist with SRI strategic development and implementation
  • Develop interactive materials

Strategic Sustainability Research Initiative engagement and growth:

  • Support cross-campus collaboration
  • Build internal and external partnerships
  • Support sustainability communication efforts

Professional development

What You Should Know

  • This position may require some regional travel
  • Irregular work hours including evenings and weekends may be required

What We Can Offer

Salary range: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00

What We Require

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with data science tools and programming (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects

What You Will Need

  • Knowledge of the sustainability research landscape
  • Ability to maintain and document code

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Knowledge of CU Boulder’s academic programs
  • Program development, grant coordination, research administration
  • Experience working across disciplines and academic units
  • Experience in facilitation and/or interdisciplinary collaboration
