The Mountain Research Station in Nederland, CO encourages applications for the Temporary Custodian and Grounds Maintenance position! The Mountain Research Station is seeking an employee to assist with their day-to-day operations with a focus on custodial and grounds maintenance.

Located at 9500 feet in the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies, the Mountain Research Station (MRS) is an interdisciplinary facility of the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (University of Colorado) providing research and educational opportunities for scientists, students, and the general public. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Custodial work, including cleaning of cabins and lodge: vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, taking out the trash/recycling/compost, etc.
- Grounds maintenance to include upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds: raking, hauling brush, fire mitigation, painting, staining, assist with construction, etc.
What You Should Know
- This position is about 80% custodial work and 20% ground maintenance. Occasional evening work may be required.
- This is a temporary, full-time position anticipated to last from mid-May through mid-August in Nederland, CO.
- Typical scheduling is 8am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri, with a total of 35-40 hours/week.
What We Can Offer
The hourly range for this full-time position is $20-$24.
Benefits
Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require
- 6 months of professional experience. Education may substitute for the experience on a year for year basis.
What You Will Need
- Safety Conscious.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
What We Would Like You to Have
- Professional cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to provide quality cleaning for lodging and bath facilities.
- Hands on skills for grounds and building maintenance.
- Comfortable using basic power and hand tools.
