Job Summary

In this position you will assist in data collection, experiment maintenance, management of undergraduate research assistants, data management, and lab work. Work will include day-to-day maintenance and data collection of the Boulder Drought experiment, Start date is May 19, 2024. End date is August 1, 2025

Who We Are

As the University's oldest institute, INSTAAR has a long history of responding to pressing environmental issues including climate change. Our traditional focus has been on alpine, Arctic, and Antarctic regions, where effects of global change are especially pronounced. In recent decades, our research has broadened to include environmental challenges that span local, regional, and global scales. INSTAAR’s research activities integrate field studies, state-of-the-art laboratory experiments, sample analysis, and numerical and laboratory modeling. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Day-to-day maintenance of field experiment
  • Maintenance and installation of environmental sensors
  • Management of data collection
  • Managing undergraduate research assistants

What We Can Offer

$20/hour - $22/hour.

What We Require

  • B.S. or B.A. in Ecology or related field, minimum of 1 year of research experience.

What You Will Need

  • Ability to work independently, effectively communicate with a team and multiple supervisors, handle multiple projects, keep to a pre-determined schedule, apply common field and lab protocols in the field of ecology.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Experience doing field work in local ecosystems in the Boulder area, especially experience focused on drought studies in grasslands.
