Who We Are

The Center for Astrophysics and Space Astronomy (CASA) is dedicated to advancing our understanding of the Universe in which we live through observations and theory. Founded in 1985, CASA is an affiliated unit within the structure of the Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences (APS) Department at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The candidate will make line flux measurements of Balmer and Paschen lines from medium-band photometry in the MegaScience and MINERVA surveys and compare with existing spectroscopy. The candidate will use these line flux measurements to create maps of star formation and dust in galaxies at cosmic noon, as well as to investigate the integrated dust content and dust law of distant galaxies.

What We Can Offer

The hiring rate for this position is $35.00 per hour.

What We Require

  • Applicants should have a PhD in astronomy or related field at the start of the position.
