Job Summary

INSTAAR would like to hire a researcher to look into the topic of Hydromet Security from Glaciers to Deltas for the benefit of clarifying and collecting information about the difference between Hydromet Security and Hydromet Services.

INSTAAR’s research activities integrate field studies, state-of-the-art laboratory experiments, sample analysis, and numerical and laboratory modeling. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Tasks will include the research of Hydromet Security-related articles and papers, collating them into a document used for support of a research publication or journal article. Assessing this research with a legal /law approach will necessary and beneficial for this application. Also, data collection and organization used in google suite for analysis.

This appointment will end no later than January 16, 2026.

$20/hour.

What We Require

  • Master's Degree.

What You Will Need

  • Familiarity with climate water and weather-related impacts to society and specifically how those risks affect river basins.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated work about the legal system and how interdisciplinary research and intergenerational communication plays a role in the implementation of science (in the form of alerts, forecasts and warnings to at risk populations).
  • A background in climate science is a requirement and work with groups as well as a lone will be very beneficial. 

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Law Degree, Climate-related work experience, data analysis (especially with Google suite).
